Maureen A.  Kurp (Hartz)
Maureen Ann (Hartz) Kurp, 62, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at home on Friday January 5, 2018. Maureen was born in Connellsville on July 22, 1955, the daughter of Charles F. Hartz and Laverne M. (Harris) Hartz. Maureen graduated from Geibel Catholic School and continued her education at Shadyside School of Nursing. She was a devoted and highly proficient nurse for more than 40 years. She touched and contributed to the lives of many. With a beautiful smile, Maureen will always be remembered as a vibrant spirit; a generous and kind soul. In her free time, Maureen enjoyed the beach, country music and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by many. Maureen is survived by her mother Laverne M. (Harris) Hartz. Her children James Paul Shope III and wife, Christine, Jeff Shope, Stephanie McCloy and husband, Michael; grandchildren Madison Caruso, Kaylee Shope, Jace Shope and Makson McCloy; a brother Charles F. Hartz Jr. and wife, Tracey; sisters Linda Moreland and husband, Joseph, Tina Bozio and husband, Ron, Carla Mahaven, Heather Dejong and husband, Derek along with many nieces and nephews. Maureen was predeceased by her father Charles F. Hartz. In keeping with the wishes of Maureen, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Allegheny Health Network Hospice and Palliative Care 4818 Liberty Avenue Pittsburgh PA 15224. “Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes.
