Michael Francis Fleming, 76, surrounded by his children, passed into glory on Saturday, May 26, 2018 after complications from battling several long-term illnesses. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Michael was born in Braddock to the late Andrew and Margaret (Smeltz) Fleming on July 1, 1941. Michael was blessed to marry his high school sweetheart Mary Lou (DeMarzo) Fleming, in September, 1962, who preceded him in death in 1983. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Corrine Blasko, Mary Margaret Fleming, and Bernadette Raling; and his brothers Jerome and Lawrence Fleming. Michael always worked long hours in several jobs to provide for his family’s needs. He was well known for his generosity of giving to others in need even if it meant going without for himself or his family. Michael was a devout Christian who truly enjoyed his prayer time, Christian music, Notre Dame, and being in the presence of his family. (Velveeta cheese and mayo sandwiches, Wise potato chips with Pepsi were his faves too) The family is comforted in knowing he is safe and secure with his Savior and celebrating eternity with those he has missed so much. Michael is survived by his children, Brian Fleming and his wife Patti of Irwin, Nancy Fawcett and her husband Bob of Harrison City, and Christopher Fleming and his wife Tammy of Irwin. Grandchildren; Matthew Fawcett, Sydney and Luke Fleming, Nick and Michael Fleming. Also survived by his sister Shirley Jancisin of Maryland, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Ave. Irwin, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM where parting prayers will take place on Wednesday at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church.
