George P.  Samuels
George P. Samuels, 85, of Irwin died Friday June 8, 2018 in the Golden Heights Personal Care, Irwin. He was born August 19, 1932, in Braddock a son of the late Joseph T. and Frances R. (Redinger) Samuels. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Quality Control Inspector, for Westinghouse Electric Trafford. He was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church , in Herminie, and its’ Sunshine Club. He was also a member of the Irwin Country Club. George was a veteran of the Army having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Rita (Shepstone) Samuels; a brother Robert William Samuels. Surviving are a daughter Sandra Halin and her husband, Peter, of North Huntingdon; two grandchildren Alexandra Yorio and her husband, Charles, and Kara Halin; two great grandchildren Chandler and Charlie Yorio, Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Herminie. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH. Interment will be private. The family wishes to thank Golden Heights Personal Care in Harrison City and Allegheny Health Network Hospice for the care and compassion they extended to George. The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Edwards Catholic Church 120 St. Edwards Lane Herminie PA 15637 or Allegheny Health Network Hospice 4818 Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh PA 15224.
