Norma J.  Nicholas
Norma J. Nicholas, 83, of Irwin, died Friday November 3, 2017 in the Walnut Ridge Memory Care, Greensburg. She was born July 20, 1934, in Irwin a daughter of the late Moses and Marion (Joseph) Nicholas. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a licensed insurance agent for Duncan Insurance Group. Norma started working for Malt Insurance Agency and also for Koury Insurance Agency. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, in Greensburg and it’s Antiochian Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Jacktown Ride and Hunt Club, in North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by sisters Sara Ustazewski, Mary Weaver and Annie Nicholas; brothers Anthony, Isaac, Joseph, Kenneth, Michael and Frederick Nicholas, and Albert Viziola. Norma loved being surrounded by her family and friends, especially when she was hosting parties at her home. She was an avid Steelers fan. Norma’s special spirit, kindness and contagious laughter will be missed by all who loved her. Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Laura Nicholas, of North Huntingdon and Norma Nicholas, of Penn; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and a special friend Diane Harker. Norma’s family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at Walnut Ridge Greensburg for the care and compassion they provided to Norma during her time there. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. Memorial Prayers will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday. Memorial Prayers will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Michael’s Orthodox Church with the Archpriest John Nosal officiating all services. Interment will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery North Huntingdon. A In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s Orthodox Church 1182 Ashland Street Greensburg Pa 15601.
