Marian E. (Watkins) Shank, 92, of North Irwin, died Sunday August 26, 2018 in the Weatherwood Manor Greensburg. She was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Friedens, PA, a daughter of the late Fred and Ruth (Sivits) Watkins. Marian worked as a waitress and worked in Somerset Hospital before her marriage in 1943. Marian retired as a cafeteria manager for the Norwin School District. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Paul W. Shank; two brothers Carl and Robert Watkins; sisters Hazel Miracle and Helen Bailey. She was a former member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren, in Geiger, PA before moving to North Irwin and joining The First United Methodist Church, Irwin and joined the Happy Methodist. She was also a member of the A.A.R.P. and the Westmoreland Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. She liked to do crafts, crocheting and quilting for family and friends. She is survived by two children Larry P. Shank, of Wildwood, NJ and Beverly McDonald and her husband, Robert, of Irwin; grandchildren Tammy Griser and husband, Edward, of NJ, Thomas P. Shank, of NJ, Larry Scott Shank, of NY, Pamela Wasielewski and husband, Ryan, of Plum, Brenton McDonald, of Irwin, Susan Gilroy and husband, Michael, of Jeannette; great grandchildren Michael Griser and wife, Justyne and Paul Griser all of NY, Dakota, Ava, and Mason Gilroy all of Jeannette, Zachery and Owen Wasielewski, of Plum; great great granddaughter Kaleigh and Addison, of NJ; a brother Ray A. Watkins, of Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday 1-6 p.m. at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville.
